Fine Uncoated Ground Calcium Carbonate, 750 to 800 Mesh
K-GCC-U5 is the coarsest of the five grades. It is ground calcium carbonate milled to 750 to 800 mesh, with a median particle size of 5 µm.
It is a cost effective filler for systems where a very fine particle size is not required.

Fineness
What this fineness is suited to.
With a D50 of 5 µm and a D97 of up to 20 µm, this grade gives good bulk and whiteness at a low cost. It suits applications where the finish does not depend on the very largest particles, such as putty, general purpose paints, adhesives and rubber compounds.

750 to 800 mesh
Mesh is a sieve based name for fineness. A higher mesh number means a finer powder.
D50
5 µm
D50 is the median particle size. Half of the particles are smaller than this figure and half are larger.
D97
max 20 µm
D97 is the size below which 97% of the particles fall. It describes the coarse end of the powder, so a lower D97 means fewer large particles.
